Change of 1st page of double page spread.

As it stands I don't like my 1st page of my double page spread. Personally I don't feel it works with the style of the magazine, and I don't feel it works as page in general, so I am trying to change it to make it look better.
One idea I have come up, thanks to feedback from my teacher is to have the title at the top of the page and a poster on the bench behind.

Final Contents Page.

I have compromised with both types of blue and this was the out come. I am quite happy about this because personally I feel it works. It ties in with the front page and my house colours however it stands out and is easy for the audience to read.
I have used the darker blue for the title and the actual contents, and i have used the lighter blue for the bigger page numbers which are next to images.

Contents Page with a change of colour.

I have changed the blue, used in the contents page, to a darker blue. The only problem with this being, it doesn't tie in 100% with my front cover, as I wanted my house colours to be blue (turquoise) , black and white. However the positive with this colour is it does stand out against my background.

Contents Page with a colour problem.

I have created my contents page with the black and white background, however the blue I used with my front cover doesn't stand out again it which makes it hard to read.

Another idea for Contents page.

Just to have a plain black background and blue writting - to tie it in with the front cover. I'm not to sure at the moment, so will try out the other way then decide what looks best for my magazine.

Final Front Cover.

New Background for Contents Page.

After feedback from both of my teachers, they gave me the idea to try the background being black and white and add the blue writting ontop. I have created the background and it looks like this....

I am now about to add the text ontop .
